Director’s Message

IIM Ranchi has come a long way from the time it started functioning with two small class rooms and a library in 2010 in Ranchi. Today we have an excellent infrastructure and one of the finest hostel facilities among all IIMs. We offerwell-furnished single rooms to every student. We have studio and smart class rooms with capability to live stream classes to any part of the world. We also have faculty from US teaching our students through e-learning tools. We spend more than Rs. 1.2 crore per year for e-resources for the library. We have been ranked as the 4th best B-School in the eastern region by Hindustan Times and The Week and ranked among the top five emerging b-schools in India by Business Today .

Within a short period of time, we have started a number of new programmes; 18 months part time Executive Diploma program for working professionals, 2 years full-time Post graduate program in HRM (Only IIM to offer a HRM program), Fellow Program in Management with specializations in Analytics, neuro management, Indian management and other functional areas; And MDPs for working professionals. We offer a stipend of Rs. 30,000 per month in the first two years and Rs. 35,000/- in the next two years for FPM students.

Our students are taught courses on Indian culture, Inner development and Indian ethos. Also, they work on an year-long social project with the NGOs in Jharkhand. Yoga and meditation are compulsory modules in our curriculum. Thus we produce graduates who are socially sensitive and are rooted in the Indian culture.

We have identified Neuro management and Business analytics as our thrust areas. We have tied up with IBM for business analytics and have the latest BI tools including Cognos, SAS, SPSS Clementine and a host of others. For Neuro management we have an understanding with Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP) for use of their equipment that include EEG, FMRI etc. for brain mapping. Our faculty are working with CIP faculty on a number of research projects and we are the only IIM to offer FPM in Neuro management.

All these were possible because, we never wanted to create yet another IIM. Our mission and core values have remained our guiding principles in our growth path. We invited likeminded people to join hands with us to promote a value based education that is beneficial to the business, government and the society.
